The Urban Walking Festival, an annual Auckland-wide event, celebrates local people strolling through their neighbourhoods, connecting and sharing conversation while on the move. At the heart of the festival each year are walks hosted by artists, local historians and community leaders. We’re excited to announce that Kāinga Ora and the Oranga Development team will sponsor an Oranga walk in this year’s Urban Walking Festival 2022!

The Look and Learn Oranga walk is easy, only 20-30 minutes long, great for all ages and fitness levels. Bring the whole whānau along and find out what’s happening in the neighbourhood. You’ll get to walk through key community locations like the Oranga Development Information Centre, Oranga Kai Ora Garden, Piritahi Site Office, Oranga Community Centre and Fergusson Domain.

Plus everyone who comes on the walk will also have the chance to win one of two $200 Prezzy Cards. All you need to do to get in to win is finish the walk and answer an easy questionnaire. Look out for our posters and flyers, or click through here for a digital copy of the flyer, map and questionnaire.

The Oranga walk kicks off on November 8th 2022 and continues for several weeks. You can learn more about the Urban Walking Festival by visiting their website. And stay tuned for updates about the Oranga Walk on our Facebook page.
