Oranga Careers Day is a community event for local rangitahi, designed to support high school students into further training, education and employment. This year, Careers Day was held at the Oranga Community Centre in late September.
The turnout at this year's event was excellent, and included a diverse range of local and national businesses and training schools. Some of this years stall holders included: The Electrical Training Company Ltd, Fulton Hogan, Mainfreight Training Centre, Whitecliff College School of Design, Cut Above Academy, APM Employment Services, Vision College, NZ School of Tourism, Elite School of Beauty and Spa, NZMA Trades, Kornerstone Recruitment, Kaea Consultants Ltd and the Ministry of Social Development.
Kāinga Ora had two stalls running on the day, and by visiting the stalls and chatting to our Community Engagement team, Oranga students were able to learn about innovative Kāinga Ora programmes like Construction Plus – Mahi Ora, Apprenticeship, the Graduate Programme and our popular partnership programme, Spotless Cadetship.
