WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE GROUND

The Oranga Development is well underway, transforming the area with warm, modern homes, safer streets and upgraded infrastructure. Over time, around 400 existing social homes will be replaced with approximately 1,300 new homes, including a mixture of social homes and homes to buy on the open market.

PROGRESS SO FAR

• We're excited to see Elaman begin construction over summer on the corner of Olea Road and Oranga Avenue, delivering 25 architecturally designed terrace homes to the market. Interest has already been strong, so if you're keen to learn more, you can find the sales info here.

• The Oranga Info Centre was decommissioned in February, but it's still easy to get in touch with the team. Just head to our  website for all the contact details.

LOOKING AHEAD

• We are looking forward to the start of construction in April/May for 15 townhouses on Roosevelt Ave by Field Homes, with a sales campaign launching soon. 

• From late May/June, nine additional homes are scheduled for demolition to make way for future development. Several new developers are currently exploring opportunities to deliver more market homes in Oranga.

• We have also been working with several new developers who are exploring opportunities to deliver more market homes in Oranga. Watch this space for further updates!

TIMELINE

Autumn/Winter 2026

• Design and consenting work is progressing well for the upcoming pathway upgrades, and Olea Road/Fergusson Park frontage upgrade. These enhancements will help create safer, more accessible routes for the community.

• Continuing design and consenting for the new public wastewater extension through to Rockfield Road. 

Summer 2026/2027

• Construction of 22 new social homes across 3 superlots will be underway.

• Construction commences on the first pathways and Olea Road- Fergusson Park frontage.
